L'orchestra
Nata e con sede presso l'omonima Basilica al Flaminio è stata fondata nel gennaio 2011 dal m° Arman Azemoon, attuale direttore musicale.
E' l'unica Orchestra Amatoriale Sinfonica a Roma, il cui organico è rappresentato da musicisti provenienti da vari paesi europei ed extracomunitari oltre che italiani.
Il progetto è dedicato a tutti quei musicisti amatori che, pur percorrendo una strada professionale diversa da quella musicale, vogliano coltivare la loro naturale passione artistica.
Collaborano all'interno dell'organico musicisti professionisti che, nelle vesti di Tutor danno agli amatori la possibilità di perfezionare l'inserimento in orchestra attraverso laboratori di musica d'insieme.
Il progetto è altresì dedicato ai giovani musicisti diplomati e studenti che hanno la possibilità di arricchire la loro esperienza orchestrale e umana accanto agli amatori.
La formazione, attualmente rappresentata da una compagine di tipo sinfonico-corale di circa 80 elementi, ha partecipato a numerosi concerti e rassegne a Roma nei vari municipi e in Provincia, riscuotendo sempre un positivo riscontro di pubblico e di critica. Da segnalare il concerto di chiusura tenutosi a Villa Celimontana nell'ambito della rassegna "Estate Romana 2013 – Concerti in Villa", per Roma Capitale e la presenza ai concerti della Festa Europea della Musica di Roma nelle edizioni dal 2011 al 2014. Il repertorio eseguito spazia dal genere classico alle colonne sonore di musica da film.
L'associazione che la rappresenta, ha tra i suoi principali obiettivi la valorizzazione e la diffusione nel territorio della pratica strumentale nelle varie forme di musica d'insieme, attività ancora poco diffusa nel nostro Paese, ma ampiamente affermata nel nord Europa.
Born and based at the Basilica of the same name in the Flaminia quarter, it was founded in January 2011 by M° Arman Azemoon, who is also the current director of music.
It is the only Amateur Symphony Orchestra in Rome, numbering musicians not only from Italy, but also from various European and non-European countries.
The project is dedicated to all amateur musicians who, although following different professional careers, want the chance to cultivate their natural artistic passion.
The group also includes professional musicians, who act as Tutors, working to help the amateurs integrate with the orchestra as a whole through ensemble laboratories.
The project is also aimed at young music graduates and students, enabling them to enrich their orchestral and human experience in the company of amateurs.
The group, which is currently a typical symphony/choral orchestra of approximately 80 players, has taken part in numerous concerts and events in various areas of Rome and the surrounding Province, receiving considerable public and critical acclaim. Particularly noteworthy was the final concert held at Villa Celimontana as part of the "Estate Romana 2013 - Concerti in Villa" season, organised by Roma Capitale, together with the concerts given as part of the European Festival of Music in Rome during the seasons from 2011 to 2014. The orchestra's repertoire ranges from classical pieces to the soundtracks from well-known films.
One of the main aims of the association it represents is to enhance and encourage local instrumental music-making in various types of ensemble: something that is as yet not widely seen in Italy, although it is common practice in other parts of Northern Europe.
